Find Glades County Released Inmates

Glades County released inmates can remain visible in county release records after they leave the live jail roster. A Glades County released inmate search starts with the county’s released-only records, then follows the court case or receiving custody system when needed. Search for Glades County released inmates by name and release range, but match more than a name. Glades County released inmates may have bonded out, finished a sentence, entered state prison, moved to immigration or federal custody, or begun community supervision. Each outcome has its own confirming record.

Glades County Release Record Basics

A Glades County release means that a person left the custody system named in that record. It does not always mean a return to the community. The Glades County Sheriff’s Office may record release after bond, time served, sentence completion, a court order, or transfer. A transfer to another county, the Florida Department of Corrections, federal custody, or ICE ends the local jail episode while custody continues elsewhere. The exact release time is still useful. It marks the point when responsibility changed.

The central local record is the GCSO SmartWEB result. It can preserve a booking image, identifying details, booking and MNI numbers, booking time, a precise release time, charges, court case numbers, arresting agency, bond data, and fees. The Glades court case then explains the legal event. A state-prison release belongs in FDC records, while BOP and ICE maintain their own limited locators. The source must match the custodian.

Exit event Meaning Next place to check
Bond The person leaves jail while the case usually continues. Glades court docket and GCSO release time
Time served The ordered jail portion is complete. Judgment, sentence, and release record
State transfer GCSO custody ends, but Florida prison custody begins or continues. FDC Offender Search
ICE handoff The local record can close while immigration detention continues. ICE ODLS and facility contact
Full discharge The relevant custody or supervision term has formally ended. Agency discharge record and court order
Release
Departure from the custody named in a specific record.
Discharge
Formal completion of a custody or supervision obligation.
Time served
Credit or service that completes the custodial part of a sentence.
Detainer
A request or hold tied to another agency’s authority.
Expunction
A court process that restricts an eligible record more fully than sealing.

Glades County Release Record Fields

The Glades County released result answers identity, custody, and exit questions in one view. Identity should be matched with the image, demographics, booking number, MNI number, and case number. The custody episode is defined by booking time, charge rows, statute, arrest number, agency, court case, degree, level, bond type, bond amount, and fees. The exit event appears as Status: Released with an exact released date and time.

No reliable stand-alone release-reason or destination field was found. That absence is important. A timestamp proves departure from GCSO custody, but it does not tell whether the person went home or entered another system. Copy the case number before leaving the record. It is the best bridge to the bond order, disposition, sentence, or later warrant.

Field What it shows
Booking number and MNI Keys for the county custody episode and records request
Booking and released times The start and end points shown for GCSO custody
Status Whether the result is marked released
Image and demographics Tools for distinguishing people with similar names
Case number and agency The route to the court file and arrest source
Charge and bond rows The booked allegations and bond terms, not final guilt

A Glades County release timestamp confirms departure from the county jail, not freedom from every form of custody or supervision.

Request Glades County Release Records

When SmartWEB has no result or an official copy is needed, the GCSO Records Department accepts requests in person, by mail, and by email. A focused request should identify the person, approximate booking and release range, booking or MNI number if known, and each existing item sought. Useful items include the booking sheet, release record, actual release date and time, recorded disposition or destination, and booking photograph. Ask for electronic delivery and an estimate before special-service work.

  1. Collect the exact name, date of birth if known, booking or MNI number, and likely date range.
  2. Email Public_Records@gladessheriff.org, visit the sheriff complex, or mail GCSO Records Department at P.O. Box 39, Moore Haven, FL 33471.
  3. Describe existing records, not questions that would require staff to create a narrative.
  4. Ask for an itemized cost estimate and the statute supporting any withholding or redaction.
  5. Match the returned release time to the court case and any receiving agency record.

GCSO posts $1 per copy, $1.50 for a two-sided copy, $7 per CD or DVD, and $2 for a local records check. Its mail instructions call for a sufficient self-addressed stamped envelope and say research and return generally occur within five business days after receipt, subject to the agency’s investigation caveat. Florida has no single fixed deadline for every records request.

The official GCSO records page shows the county’s channels, fees, and stated mail process.

This county source is the fallback when a dynamic release result is absent, old, restricted, or not enough for the intended record need.

Glades County Release Record Law

Florida Statutes chapter 119 governs access to agency public records. Section 119.07 calls for inspection and copying at reasonable times, prompt acknowledgement, a good-faith response, and production of nonexempt parts after protected material is redacted. A custodian should identify the exemption used and explain it in writing on request. Active investigative information, protected victim data, medical information, security material, juvenile records, and sealed or expunged records can limit access.

Legal retention and online display are different. Florida’s GS2 schedule gives booking records and commitment or release lists a minimum retention tied to the anniversary after release, while jail docket books are permanent. SmartWEB testing found much older results, but GCSO states no guaranteed online period. A no-result can reflect spelling, date range, archival practice, data lag, juvenile confidentiality, sealing, or expunction. It does not prove that no release occurred.

Sealing and expunction begin through the formal FDLE and court process, not a request that the jail erase a page. Certified dispositions and proof that supervision ended may be required. A sealed record remains available to authorized entities under state law. An expunged record has tighter access limits. Needed official copies should be gathered before access lawfully changes.

Note: Ask for the nonexempt portion of a Glades County release record when only some fields are protected.

Glades County Booking Fee Refund

GCSO assesses a $25 intake booking fee to nonfederal inmates. The fee does not show why the case ended. If the case is dismissed or the person is found not guilty, GCSO says the person must provide the sheriff with the court documents and the booking fee will be returned. The county release result helps begin that process because its charge row supplies the court case number.

Use the case number in the Glades Clerk portal and locate the final disposition. If a certified copy is required, the Clerk publishes separate copy, search, and certification fees. A release timestamp alone is not proof of dismissal or acquittal. The court document establishes the qualifying result, while the sheriff handles the posted booking-fee refund process.

Glades County Bond Release Records

A person who does not bond out is brought before a judge within 24 hours, either in person or by Poly Com video, according to the GCSO booking process. The judge advises the person of the charges and bond. A later SmartWEB status of released may reflect bond, yet the criminal case can remain open. The release record does not provide a dependable separate reason field.

Compare the exact release time with the case docket. A bond order, payment entry, or later hearing can explain why custody ended. Charges may later be amended or dismissed. The released result documents a jail event, not a final finding about the criminal case. This distinction is especially useful when the current-inmate view no longer shows the person.

Find Glades County Released Inmates

The official GCSO SmartWEB search is the fastest local route. Select Released Inmates Only. Search a surname and add a begin and end release date when the likely range is known. Broaden spelling and dates if the first search fails. Results can be sorted by name or booking date. The default “BOOKED Last 24 Hours” display is booking activity and must not be mistaken for a release list.

  1. Select the released-only mode and enter a broad name and release-date range.
  2. Match the image, demographics, booking and MNI numbers, and case number.
  3. Record the exact released timestamp and expand the charge rows.
  4. Use the case number in the Glades Clerk search to find the legal event.
  5. Search FDC, ICE, BOP, or a receiving jail when transfer remains possible.
  6. Call GCSO at 863-946-1600 or submit a records request when the portal does not resolve the search.

A current-only jail roster answers whether a person is listed now. It is not the right final tool for someone already released. SmartWEB’s released-only mode preserves the local exit event. The Glades County 24-Hour Releases page explains how to construct a precise recent window from the same form.

Glades County State Release Search

Use the FDC Inmate Release Information search for a person who served a Florida state sentence or moved from the county jail into state prison. It does not cover every short Glades County jail stay. Search by the six-character DC number for the strongest match. A name search accepts first and last name, uses prefix matching, and can surface aliases.

The FDC released detail may show a photograph, DC number, identifiers, aliases, release date, current prison sentence history, county, case number, detainers, and incarceration history with in-custody and out-custody dates. The database is updated nightly. A past release date paired with released status supports a completed FDC exit. A future “Current Release Date” is prospective and can change.

Search field Use Match check
DC number Best direct state identifier Six-character number and full detail
First and last name Broader prefix search Birth date, photo, aliases, case
Release Date Past or scheduled state event Status and incarceration history
Current location/status Custody or supervision context Confirm transfer versus release

The official FDC offender search separates state records from county booking data.

Glades County Release Case Bridge

SmartWEB supplies the court case number but not a reliable release disposition. The Glades County Online Court Records Search bridges that gap. Search the copied case number when possible. Then inspect docket entries for a bond order, plea, dismissal, judgment and sentence, jail credit, probation terms, warrant, or later termination order.

The Clerk says inactive criminal case files may be stored offsite and can take a day or so to retrieve. A blank online document screen is not always the end of the record trail. Felony files and misdemeanor or criminal-traffic files also route through different criminal divisions. For a certified record, contact the Clerk at 500 Avenue J, Suite 500, Moore Haven, or 863-946-6010.

The official county-22 portal shows the case-search route that survives after a short jail stay.

Its case data explains the legal outcome, while GCSO supplies the actual local custody release time.

Glades County Release Supervision Paths

Post-release routing depends on age and case type. Adult felony supervision belongs to FDC Community Corrections. FCOR controls parole and several other state release matters. Glades misdemeanor probation is handled through the Twentieth Circuit program in Moore Haven. Youth may enter DJJ probation or aftercare through the Glades County Probation and Community Intervention Program. These records should never be merged into one generic probation search.

The FDC Supervised Population record can show status, supervision type, location, start date, and scheduled termination date. The separate Absconder/Fugitive Search applies when a supervised person allegedly stops reporting. The Glades County Post-Release Supervision page sets out those adult, local, and juvenile verification routes.

Travel After Glades County Release

Florida law states that a prisoner discharged after serving a sentence or on pardon or parole shall receive transportation, or equivalent money, back to the place from which sentenced. Glades County jail pages do not explain the local mode, pickup point, or release exit. Ask GCSO how it applies section 951.04 to the specific discharge.

STREAM operates three weekday flag-stop routes through Moore Haven and nearby communities. The service does not publish a jail stop or release partnership. Call Heartland Rides at 1-877-935-4487 before relying on a route. A family pickup plan should also be confirmed with the jail because no public discharge desk, release schedule, exit door, or waiting location was found.

Glades County Release or ICE Transfer

ICE custody is a major Glades-specific branch. A federal immigration detainer can ask the jail to hold a person for up to 48 hours beyond the time they would otherwise be released so DHS can assume custody. The GCSO record may then show released because county custody ended. That does not establish community release.

Search ICE ODLS with an exact nine-digit A-number and country of birth, or exact biographical details. ICE says the locator can cover current detention and about 60 days after ICE release, subject to exclusions and feed lag. After that period, absence is inconclusive. The renewed 2025 Glades agreement created capacity for up to 500 immigration beds at the jail, which makes this handoff a real local concern.

Two Glades County Release Systems

The county jail and Moore Haven Correctional and Rehabilitation Facility sit on East State Road 78, yet their release records are not interchangeable. The jail complex was financed through a $33 million bond sponsored by Glades Correctional Development Corporation and began holding ICE detainees in June 2007. GCSO operates the county and contract detention side.

Moore Haven is a state-contract prison. It opened in July 1995 and changed operators before GEO resumed operations in 2014. FDC supplies the offender and release record path for people held there. A move out of Moore Haven can be an institution transfer, not release from Florida custody. The current FDC location and status make that distinction.

Glades County Release Search Choices

The correct search is determined by the system that last held or supervised the person. Starting with the wrong roster can create a false no-result. A current GCSO roster is for present county custody. Released-only SmartWEB results are for completed GCSO episodes. FDC covers state prison and state supervision. BOP covers federal prison history, while ICE ODLS has a narrower immigration window.

Situation Record to use What it can confirm
Still in Glades jail SmartWEB Current Inmates Only Current local listing
Released from Glades jail SmartWEB Released Inmates Only Released status and exact county time
Florida state prisoner FDC population or release search State status, location, and dates
Under state supervision FDC Supervised Population Type, current status, location, end date
Federal prison history BOP Inmate Locator Released or not-in-BOP-custody result
Immigration custody ICE ODLS Limited current or recent ICE result

Absence from one system does not prove release. Check the receiving agency, court case, and formal records-request path.

Glades County Release Record Systems

Seven mapped custody and record paths serve Glades County release questions. The county detention center provides the local released-only record. Moore Haven uses FDC. The regional juvenile center uses confidential DJJ and court channels. The court preserves the case outcome. ICE, FDC, and BOP each answer only their own jurisdiction.
